Cabo is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I have been to Cabo San Lucas Mexico three times in the last year and what an awesome vacation each time. Our first visit we stayed at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort on the Pacific side in February 2015. Our good friends recommended their resort and said we could use their timeshare as a guest. We arrived after a 40 minute scenic drive from the airport. As we approached the resort and through the gate, we were driving up a mountain that over looked villas, resort, the Pacific, and a golf course, it was truly amazing site. We enjoyed a week stay and at one of the most old world luxury resorts that I have been too. There were amazing restaurants all with a beautiful views, 7 luxury pools and the most amazing pool is called the Sky Pool. It sits on top of the resort, on the highest peak. It over looks the ocean and you can see whales jumping, cruise ships, yachts, beach, golf course and fishing boats. There are 2 outstanding infinity pools and a swim up bar to the most gracias of bartenders. One thing about the gorgeous beach at the resort was that you could not swim in the Pacifica. The waves would be crashing in up to 15 feet high at times. It was too dangerous, but it was a beautiful thing to see. The cool thing about staying at Pueblo Bonito there are 2 other sister resorts that you can go to over on Medano Beach about a 10 minutes ride called Rose and Blanco. I would often take the shuttle on the hour over to Rose’ and dine at their restaurants and enjoy the beach. If you want action, then Medano beach is where you want to be. There are tons of boats, jet skis, yachts, cruise ships, the beautiful Arch Rock landmark, and you have to visit the tiki bars of The Office or Mango Deck . If you want contests and crazy people watching, this is where you want to be!
Our second visit was to Pueblo Bonito Rose. The beach side at Medano was crazy fun! Tons of action and people watching! The resort was older than the Sunset, but the staff was very friendly and the restaurants were gourmet. One a the main reasons we wanted to stay at the Rose’, was that is was a 10 minute walk into town. We planned our entire vacation for Sammy Hagar’s birthday bash. As a fellow Libra, we love our birthdays. The more parties the better. lol. We were lucky enough to win tickets through the lotto system for one show. We are huge Sammy fans and the Cabo Wabo Cantina is electric. It is an amazing nightclub and restaurant in the heart of downtown Cabo San Lucas. There is live music every night and if your lucky, you can see Sammy or friends preform a surprise show. I love their motto:
“Cabo Wabo is a lifestyle. Something that requires only a willingness to enjoy your life and embrace all that makes you happy! That’s the reason the Cantina was created” – Sammy Hagar!
The energy of the place was so vibrant. We couldn’t wait for Sammy to join the stage. We waited 3 hours to get front row, but it was well worth it! Sammy made it feel like he was singing to me directly. One of my favorite lifetime moments!
Our third trip was this past February. I love Cabo so much, I got 10 other couples to come along! Everyone stayed at Pueblo Bonito Sunset, but we stayed at Pueblo Bonito Montecristo’s villas with two other couples. This is the most gorgeous place I’ve have ever seen. This luxury resort has three bedrooms, three full baths and a half bath, every villa has an amazing infinity pool, hot tub, lounging chairs and full gorgeous kitchen. As we walked up to the villa, there were lovely gardens of abundant flowers. The first thing I see in the courtyard is a beautiful water fountain and two castle-like doors. As you sit on the balcony overlooking the mountains and water, you can see both the sunset and sunrise, which is gorgeous. It overlooks the golf course and the Pacifica where you’ll see whales jumping in the Spring time. Each Montecristo villa comes with its own Butler and the room service was fantastic.
Another favorite moment on our third trip was meeting Sammy Hagar. He put on a surprise concert and brought along his friend, Toby Keith. to the Cantina. One of our friends, Mike Sugg, came along on our trip and he just happens to be a Toby Keith look alike. He has his own band called, Toby Tribute. He would get comments like “you look just like Toby,” so he decided to take singing lessons and he knew how to play guitar, so he learned his songs and now has his own gig out at Harrahs Reno Neveda. Can you tell who the real Toby is in the picture??
Cabo has so much to offer. The night life is amazing. Tons of bars and restaurants that have outdoor dining and music. There are amigos enticing you into each place. The music is just pumping! Is it safe? I have never felt so safe. Of course, every city you need to watch your surroundings and always recommend being with a partner or group! Another favorite place was El Squid Roe! This place was crazy fun! People were climbing on stages, poles, and dancing everywhere. It is three stories tall, packed with vibrant colors and memorabilia. If you want people watching, go here!
What else to do in Cabo??
Whale watching is a must. The great whales come in from January to April. We went on an amazing educational tour with Cabo Expeditions. The most exciting time was when a mother whale and baby came up to the surface within 10 feet of our boat. Just amazing!!
Arch Rock – The distinctive landmark of Cabo San Lucas which is the southern end of the Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula. Your lucky of enough to see an amazing sun rise and a spectacular sunset in Cabo!
Marina – Yachts, boats, shopping, drinking and eating at local pubs. Of course there is great mall, even with a Harley Davidson store, which I loved.
